  • The Lessons

We first introduce the student to the vehicle, including how to optimally set up the controls to minimize blind-spots and reduce reaction times. Taking an easy start, we move through low traffic areas, generally around the students’ homes. Basic driving techniques are introduced, including stopping distances and turning radiuses. Completion of this lesson fulfills California’s DMV’s initial behind-the-wheel training requirement, and allows students to begin practice-driving with parents.
Building on the previous lesson, we introduce the student to hill starts, parallel parking and heavier road traffic. Moving to downtown areas, we show the student what they should be aware of, as the first few encounters with heavy traffic can be stressful. We work with the student within their comfort level, which helps to make sure the lessons taught are retained.
Our lesson #3 is devoted to the freeway. We teach the importance of merging at the proper speed, keeping enough following distance, and being aware of surroundings. This gives the student the tools they need to become excellent drivers.
This lesson is a DMV pre-test. We go over every item the DMV inspector will be testing for when the student goes in for their behind-the-wheel exam. We work with the student to correct any bad habits that may have formed, and to give the extra confidence needed to pass the California behind-the-wheel driving exam.
This lesson sometimes replaces Lesson 3 for students who have been demonstrating excellent driving ability and are comfortable on the freeway. We focus on car control while driving on extremely narrow “country” roads. This lesson forces the student to truly drive the vehicle without benefit of following others or cruising. How Are We Different?

    Our Instructors
Our instructors are the core of our program. College educated, most would also be self-described gearheads, with race track experience on tracks including: Mazda Raceway, Laguna Seca, Sonoma Raceway, Thunderhill Raceway, and others. They teach driving because they want to make a difference in people’s lives. Car control and awareness are our specialty!
    Saving Lives
So many people learn to drive with misconceptions and improper tools. By bringing an advanced level of training to our lessons we give our students the ability to make correct decisions on the road.
    The Race Track
Driving a car on a race track is the pinnacle of car control. With over ten years of on-track experience, our owner has created lesson plans that stress the fundamentals of driving control and awareness. With our program, a foundation for each student driver is created. This foundation allows them to keep learning as they gain experience, while keeping them, their friends and families safe behind the wheel.
